Steam Boiler Tune-Up
The client requested a steam boiler tune-up in preparation for the upcoming session.
We started by connecting a high-velocity pump to the boiler's side drain port. Once the boiler was fully drained, we removed the pigtail pressure control trap and found that the side glass valves were clogged.
After thoroughly cleaning everything, we reinstalled the parts and flushed the boiler multiple times to remove as much dirty water as possible.
Using an air gun, we blew out all the fire tubes and cleaned all the electrical components. After completing these tasks, we introduced steam clean product into the system and turned on the heat, but the boiler did not activate.
After diagnosing the electrical system, we found the vent damper mechanism wasn't operating, which prevented the boiler from turning on.
With the client’s permission, we installed a new one. Then the boiler came on, and everything seems to be working fine now.
